After a busy Week 1 on our project, our team took a break to travel to Mexico City for the weekend. Well it wasn’t really a “break” since we had a jam-packed weekend as well! In the photo above, Stacey and I are at an archaeology museum and there’s a big church in the background. We spent the last few days touring museums, searching for the best Mexican food, and even working on our tans! Actually, we expected the weather to be a little chilly, but we all ended up getting sunburned… no bueno. We had a really fun time though!
Now we are back in Texcoco and also back to work. We already had a group meeting for 2.5 hours today to prepare for the week ahead. Here’s a photo of our team on the day we arrived. Our dorms are to the left, and the corn and wheat field are behind us.
One last photo below of last weekend… Here’s Stacey and I drinking some agua de jamaica (hibiscus water) at a local market.
Hope everyone had as much fun as we did this weekend 🙂
Yours Truly, Julie G
