On Friday, we gave our final presentation to 9 people from CIMMYT. Our team presented on market analysis, market survey, public-private partnerships, social enterprises, and financial models. It went great! The client seemed very pleased with all of the work we did and how it was presented 🙂 Here’s a photo of me in action:
We also got the opportunity to tour the CIMMYT gene banks, where all of the different varieties of corn and wheat are held. The gene bank we visited was kept at 32 degrees, literally freezing! It holds corn and wheat from all over the world, even pink corn! Here’s the group in the gene bank:
Afterwards, we took a group of people from CIMMYT out to dinner at Tejamaniles, a favorite Mexican restaurant in Texcoco. Everyone brought their families and we had a really nice time! Saturday we headed to Mexico City. Stacey and I walked to the National Museum of Anthropology, and got our final favorite snacks of elote (corn in a cup with condiments) and agua de jamaica (hibiscus water). Here’s one of the exhibits from the museum:
This afternoon, we are flying back to HOT Phoenix. 5 weeks here went by really fast! Next week our group is presenting our learning experiences at Thunderbird, and then working on our final white paper for the client. It’s not quite over yet…
Until next time!
Yours Truly, Julie G
